Mothers Day Bunting Flags

Last week for Mother's day our lovely friend Marie, (Paul's Mum) offered to come into Room 8 to show and help us make bunting for our wonderful mothers on their special day. It was a lot of fun and hard work to create these but in the end it was all worth it. On behalf of Room 8 we'd like to give a big thank you and shout out to Marie for helping all of us make all of our mothers head over heels on their day. We owe you heaps ;).
These are some photos of us making our bunting.

Busy concentrating!

In the making.

Jordan's bunting.

Katelyn's bunting flag.

Sophie's piece of art.

To make your own at home you need…
1. Paper (we used dictionary pages).
2. Black ink pad.
3.  Lettered stamps to press into the ink.
4. Glitter
5. PVA glue
6. Scissors
7. String
8. A pretty tag
9. Hole puncher
10. Coloured paper
11. Shaped hole punchers, love heart
12. A paper bag
13. Paint brush
14.  Ribbons
15. Enthusiasm!

Steps..
1. Decide what you want to say
2. Find the correct letters and then stamp then into the black ink pad
3. Press the lettered stamps onto the paper
4. While you're waiting for it to dry repeat the stamping with love heart stamps (if you want)
5. Decorate your bag and make it look fab
6. When your bunting is dry you could decorate it with glitter
7. Put Sellotape on each top corner of each piece of paper
8. When that is done, use a hole puncher and put one hole over each piece of Sellotape
9. Put string into the holes but do only one piece of paper at a time
10. When all of the string is through the papers, you can make it look nice by putting ribbons around/on it if you like.

  1. It was an absolute pleasure :) I LOVED my day spent crafting with the fab Room 8s and Mrs B - thank you so much for having me and I can't wait to do it again! Also a MASSIVE thanks for the delicious baking. So kind of Katelyn to get me some choccy too! Such a surprise and it's my turn for the baking next time!
