Speeches

                                               Speeches

Hello! Our names are James Blackler and Jake Williams. In Term Two we had Broadgreen's annual speech competition featuring the six houses of Broadgreen. Each house put through some brave people to represent their house in the school-wide competition. Two of our classmates Jake Williams and Emma Nell were selected. Once the preliminary embers were extinguished the finalists went on,the speeches were amazing. We could tell how much work the people put into this, tension was high. When the six finalists were called we were lucky at the end of the competition that our friend Jake made it in.

                                     Part from Jake's Speech

"This man has brought laughter to children, smiles to faces and cheer to the world. So that’s why my speech is about (take deep breath) Sir Terence Alan Patrick Sean Milligan also known as (take another deep breath) Spike.
Spike had an odd life doing many things, meeting many people, going many places and writing many books, but his life all started in Ahmednagar in India on April Sixteenth 1918. His father was Captain Leo Alphonso Milligan who served in the British Indian Army, his mother was Florence Mary Winifred Kettleband. *I guess long names run in the family.*"

This is a small part from my speech. It was about sir Spike MIlligan, more commonly known as the author of Bad Jelly the Witch.

                                             Part from Emma's Speech

It all started on the 11th of March last year. A magnitude 9 earthquake triggered a tsunami in Japan. It also caused a Nuclear Power Plant to overheat, leaking radiation into the air. A seagull named Larry was heading to England when he flew straight into the contaminated area. Luckily he survived but the radiation then gave him super sonic flying powers. Larry was actually on his way to watch the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Katherine Middleton at Westminster Abbey

This speech follows the story of a Seagull that gets radiated and eats someone's homework. Oh yeah it's also an excuse!

This has been the 5th post of 2012 by Jake Williams and James Blackler. Goodbye
