Our teacher Roselyn Binnie went on a holiday to Hawaii and went on a doorless chopper ride and these are some of the pictures she took. She showed us these photos because this relates to ANZAC Day (WW1) because many people were lost on the ships docked in Pearl Harbour two years in World War 2.

Hello and welcome to the Room 8 2012 blog. Above are pictures of Pearl Harbour. The airport on the bottom is where the Japanese laid waste to Honolulu on the island of Oahu but now they rebuilt it as an airfield.
The two pictures above are the memorial to all the soldiers who died during the bombing, the giant behemoth resting beneath the memorial is the SS.Arizona which is too big for words.
Oil is still slowly leaking out of the damaged hull but if they tried to move the ship the walls would collapse and all the oil would flow out to the sea. There are still some bodies inside but all that would be left is bones.
An interesting fact is that if the Japanese didn't bomb Pearl Harbour, Hitler might have won the war and we would have lived under Hitlers reign.
